This week, Trump filed a government ethics disclosure known as Form 278-T. It's a roadmap to the corruption and conflicts of interest that have pervaded his presidency.
He should not be able to get away with this. Why does he think he's so special that he doesn't have to follow the rules? How much more will he get away with?
He just keeps plowing forward with all the bad moves he makes challenging someone to make him stop. When they don’t, he keeps pushing the limits. We definitely need an immediate response to stop it to be implemented as soon as possible. While the can gets kicked down the road, he keeps doing more damaged. Same with all these lawsuits he’s involved in. He keeps appealing to buy time. That should be addressed as well so there is a time limit. It’s never ending.

I can imagine the level of outrage you must feel, given your dedicated work in government service to uphold the rules and honor the public trust. We’ve grown up with some sense of honor attributed to the office of the POTUS, so this kind of self-dealing and looting would have been unimaginable before this guy took this office.
I’ve spent the last 30+ years of my legal career working in ethical leadership and corporate compliance. I can only count on one hand the number of times I dealt with “corruption happening in plain sight” that wasn’t attributable to ignorance of the law/rules.
This guy just doesn’t care, and the traditional backstops that can counter the arrogance that drives this behavior (“the rules don’t apply to me”) have failed.
In the corporate context, the potential for consequences creates some deterrent that most leaders care about (from the shame of losing the respect of employees or clients to losing their job; the personal and financial devastation of criminal liability; and, a negative impact on their company).
But there are no potential consequences that this guy cares about, except maybe impeachment and conviction. So flipping the House and Senate seems to be the route to addressing this corruption.

Thank you for shedding the light on this government form. It will be helpful for the citizen sleuthing and independent journalists. I can only guess why Trump bothered to file this form at all: Arrogance, under the belief he is "untouchable" by the rule of law. Of course, we need to save the receipts for when we have a properly functioning Congress and House.
So far, he’s been correct
Anyone who thought the GOP hasn't been working for unfettered access to the largest Treasury on the globe, the US Treasury, since 1980 Reagan and the trickle down economics, hasn't been paying attention. I can imagine the level of outrage you must feel, given your dedicated work in government service to uphold the rules and honor the public trust. We’ve grown up with some sense of honor attributed to the office of the POTUS, so this kind of self-dealing and looting would have been unimaginable before this guy took this office.
I’ve spent the last 30+ years of my legal career working in ethical leadership and corporate compliance. I can only count on one hand the number of times I dealt with “corruption happening in plain sight” that wasn’t attributable to ignorance of the law/rules.
This guy just doesn’t care, and the traditional backstops that can counter the arrogance that drives this behavior (“the rules don’t apply to me”) have failed.
In the corporate context, the potential for consequences creates some deterrent that most leaders care about (from the shame of losing the respect of employees or clients to losing their job; the personal and financial devastation of criminal liability; and, a negative impact on their company).
But there are no potential consequences that this guy cares about, except maybe impeachment and conviction. So flipping the House and Senate seems to be the route to addressing this corruption.
