Trust yourself and keep advocating Liz. It is hard to land on the other side and see those you trusted turn.. and in the rear view mirror this adversity will become a great teacher. And, it won’t feel good until it does. Thank you for having the courage not only for yourself but for all others that you will help.
I so appreciate that you’ve taken the time and energy to update us. The legal process fascinates me. As a lay person, I’m often surprised and dismayed that justice isn’t always the outcome. I’m keeping you in my thoughts💞💞💞
“I never imagined that I would end up on the other side of the “v.” from the Department of Justice, an organization that I honorably served for years.”
Your decision to stand your ground was serving the American people honorably and it’s the DoJ that failed its mission to protect and jumped on the other side of the v., not you.
I’m sorry about your former colleagues, actually I’m sorry for them.
Hang in there and be proud!! You are one of the few beacons in those darkest times that keep me believing values do matter and prevent me from descending into nihilism.
You are doing this as much for our country as for yourself. I can’t express how thankful I am that you and others are taking up the fight in the courts. Thank you for speaking truth to power and standing up for all of those being harmed by this administration.
Thank you for sharing your professional and personal perspective. We value and honor your fight and it is our fight too! You are a role model for all women.
You will prevail in the end. Everyone needs to do what they can to push back against all the crimes against humanity this administration is perpetrating. You are Sam in The Lord of the Rings. You’re not just fighting for yourself. You’re fighting for all of us who believe there is still hope in the world, and that it’s worth fighting for.
As a lawyer in private practice (now blissfully retired!), I always tried to warn people about the stress that comes with litigation, even when they have good case and are likely to win and the case is “only” about a small commercial matter that would not seem to have a personal component. Sometimes I’d suggest that winning might not be worth the stress, that the best thing to do is just to walk away and preserve one’s peace of mind.
But sometimes you can’t just walk away, because there’s a larger principle to vindicate and someone has to stand up to those who abuse our commercial and legal systems to take advantage the fact that individuals don’t have the virtually unlimited resources of a large corporation or a government agency.
If you fight back, they will try to make an example of you, but you can make an example of them. Hang tough!
(Any chance the ACLU or some government employees’ association could help you with this?)
Wishing you the best. Seeing you on tv, you certainly seem up to the challenge. And we appreciate you keeping us in the loop on the proceedings. For us interested non-lawyers it's so educational and fascinating seeing how the system works vs how it should work.
Liz, thank you for this update on your appeal to the MSPB. I’m appalled at the actions and perspectives by DOJ on your case, as described. You deserve to have straightforward answers from DOJ on your termination, and I am disgusted by their claim that the issues raised by your case are not “Constitutional”. Wishing you all the best.
Glad to hear that you've made a slight amount of progress but dragging this out would be so frustrating. Stick to your guns and fight this all the way! Hang in there!
Thanks for the update. When I first heard your story, I could absolutely relate to the pain it caused you personally and emotionally.
Giving your all to the job with honesty and integrity and then being dismissed for no clear reason causes a pain like no other.
I still have pain from being let go from a job I enjoyed and gave my very best for five years. Came to work and found the locks were changed and a box with my belongings outside.
Although this was almost 30 years ago, I still wonder what I did wrong.
Hoping justice works to your benefit. You have reality and the law on your side.
Thank you for your efforts to resist this regime’s illegality, and the contemptible behavior of Blanche et al. All of us hoping to keep this a nation of laws owe you a debt of gratitude.
Your courage and integrity continues to inspire. Thanks for standing up against a system that is clearly trying to silence and punish those who won’t play along with political favoritism. The DOJ’s tactics—from stonewalling your FOIA requests to denying due process and even cutting off your medical benefits—are shameful. It’s heartening to see Judge Alexander deny their motion to stay and order discovery. Thanks to your persistence it’s a real sign that truth has a fighting chance,
You didn’t choose this battle, but your voice is making a difference—for yourself, for other honest public servants, and for the principle that the rule of law matters. Many are following your updates, supporting your fight, and deeply grateful for your willingness to speak out. You are not alone.
Wishing you strength in this fight, and of course, ultimate success. Whether you choose to return to your job in an atmosphere of uncivility is another matter, but I selfishly hope that you do.

I appreciate that perspective. Thank you, Bea.

And as a nurse, I understand the difference between being the medical person and being the patient.
Thank you, Melissa!

I know this may be a long journey, but you are not alone. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks, David.

Keep your head up!
Thank you and I'm sorry that happened to you.
I believe you will prevail. Just hang on and hang in there. It’s discouraging but that’s their intention. Don’t let them win! You can do it!
Thank you, Jane!
