You deserve better! I’m a retired Federal Employee and I am Proud of My Work. I don’t care what this so called administration thinks of Federal Employees! I know how hard they work for the American people! We will be on the Right Side of History!

Liz, you have boundless courage, compassion, and integrity!

You have taught me so much about the law, ways to stand with our fellow citizens who need true justice, and how to use what we have, where we are, to make a difference!

I know you're listening with the ears of your heart for a vocational call that serves your love of justice and community! ❤️

Thank you Liz. Yes, people like me would love to see you on Substack. We all want a purpose. I am 73 and retired. I grow flowers. Not just a few. This year I am growing 4 100 foot rows of zinnias plus a 100 foot row of dahlias. I give the flowers away. About half go to the nurses at a Cox clinic in Branson, Missouri. The rest I give to a variety of people. Women love flowers. And it makes me feel great when they smile.

My daughter’s job, as a grants specialist for USDA, is still uncertain and maybe on the chopping block. As a single parent to a teenager, a homeowner in DC, she’s under a lot of stress. Nonetheless she’s coping.

I love your content. I’ve followed you since the first days that Trump took over the DOJ. It broke my heart to watch what happened to you and your colleagues…and the injustice that continues to follow for all of us. Have faith that you are exactly where you’re meant to be. The information you bring forth matters. You’re making a difference. There will be lasting benefits on the other side of this terrible time - because of what you are doing. Thanks for sharing, and for your courage. Hang in there.

Come to San Diego tomorrow September 9

Last week, we had an insightful Research Meeting with Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer. She shared that—because of federal cuts to legal representation programs—starting September 30th, about 300 unaccompanied migrant children in San Diego will lose their attorneys and be forced to stand alone in federal court.

On Tuesday, September 9th, Supervisor Lawson-Remer will present a plan to expand the County’s Immigrant Legal Defense Program so that every unaccompanied migrant child has legal representation.

As people of faith, we believe every child is created in the image of God and deserves dignity, compassion, and protection. No child should ever have to face a judge and government attorney alone, without someone to stand by their side.

Call to action:

✅ Submit an eComment in support before the vote on Tuesday, September 9th.

✅ Join us in person to provide public comment at 9 AM, at the County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 310, San Diego, CA 92101

Thank you for sharing this honest account about your journey, Liz. I look forward to reading more of your writings. Regarding questions to help answer: can Congress reign in the Supreme Court? For instance, by legislating over certain aspects that the Supreme Court has ruled on/will rule on but that destroy our democratic foundations (voting rights act).
