I sent an email to Cornyn and Tillis. I am not their constituent, but I'm glad to let them know that I oppose Todd Blanche as our next Attorney General if it might help.
Forgive the quibble, but Bernie Sanders is an Independent, not a Democrat, something that is frequently forgotten. He will, of course, vigorously oppose the confirmation of Todd Blanche.
There are two independent members in the Senate: Sen. Angus King from Maine, and Sen. Bernie Saunders from Vermont. Both of these senators caucus with the Senate Democratic Caucus.
That doesn't make them Democrats. I don't know much about King. But as for Bernie, though he'll take one for the Democratic team and keep his thoughts to himself when the situation is dire, that team rarely if ever returns the favor (and has been known to stab him in the back, at a high cost to the whole country) - he's no party insider.
Name a Democrat who, despite being older than Trump, personally barnstormed red counties when their own representatives stopped holding town halls to avoid negative feedback, not just newsbyting that he cares about working people, but walking it wekend after weekend on top of his very full time job as a senior senator. Because he's an independent, he didn't have to ask anyone or navigate party power dynamics to do the right thing at the right time. He just did it.

If you are so familiar with Bernie, you might try spelling his name correctly (it's Sanders, not Saunders). My point, which you seem to have missed, is that caucusing with Democrats does not a Democrat make. Independents are not beholden to any party, and that is a huge distinction between them and party members. It is factually incorrect and politically ignorant to lump them into a count of Democrats without making that distinction. They are not Democrats.
